VOTE TODAY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
I have the ability to build trust and cooperation and the experience needed to make these happen.
Please vote for me for Beaverton City Council to help me Bring a Better Future to Beaverton!
In 2020, I promoted our new charter to have a professional City Manager overseeing our 600+ employees. It passed but we got off to a weak start. Our new Council is still learning how a City Manager form of government works. I can bring my experience to get this new structure working efficiently.
While on City Council, I always championed Disaster Preparedness as a Council priority. After leaving, I joined the Beaverton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Beaverton Emergency Radio Team (BERT). What I found is that we are not ready for a disaster such as ice storms, wild fires, a major earthquake, or anything that would cause the electric grid to go down. I will work relentlessly for Beaverton to be prepared to respond to whatever comes our way.
It is painful to cut services, but it’s something that should have started several years ago. Instead, the Council used Federal funds to fill the shortfall in 2022 and then faced a $10M deficit in 2023. They made some cuts, increased the property tax rate to its maximum, and still face a $5M deficit this coming year. I can’t fix the past, but I will use my knowledge to help get out of this deficit loop in the future.

If elected, my top priorities are using our taxes efficiently in our new form of government, working towards being prepared for emergencies, and getting out of our fiscal deficits.
